This year’s 69th PSME NATIONAL CONFERENCE BEST CHAPTER Category B went to the Central Laguna Chapter (CLC). This is the second time that CLC won this prestigious award for the many programs it was able to accomplish even amidst the SARS 2 (Covid-19) pandemia.
This is through the sheer, hard work of its 2021 Chapter president Manolito Torres, officers and its board of directors. Among the many program done were :
- Best PME Upgrading Program for CLC Members who have at least 4 yrs professional experience and expertise in a mechanical engineering field. PME Ogie de Guzman served as resource speaker.
- Social Responsibility programs such as several community pantries three of which were held at the Alcos Residence and beneficiaries were the indigent residents of Clalamba Hills and thereabouts. Donation was also given to the the barangay of San Isidro in Cabuyao headed by PME Rizal Mosquera. A river cleaning drive was done in a highly silted estero in Cabuyao in coordinmation with the CENRO of Cabuyao and headed by Engr. Jaime Erica and participated by Engrs. Dennis Eduarte, Joe Losa, Manny Torres, Ogie de Guzman .
- Health and Fitness program competitions wherein 3 teams composed of 5 members each did their own physical fitness regimen in three categories such as walking, running and biking. These were given equivalent points according to cumulative distance or steps done on a daily basis and at the end of three months the cumulative totals were tallied and the highest team score won. The team of Dennis Eduarte composed of wound up as champions.
- Best student conference programs sponsored by CLC spearheaded by Engr. Jaime Erica.
Kudos to the CLC Officers for this impressive showing and many thanks to its members for contributing to these effort even in this trying time.
