The PSME CLC Bikers had an initial group bike ride in preparation for the 69km Ride for the 69th PSME national Convention. The first activity was done last September 25, 2021 at Nuvali. The group met at The Strip in Carmelray, Canlubang, Calamba and completed 2 loops passing thru bicycle landmarks in the area such as Meriam College, Xavier School, San Sebastian College, Republic Wake Park, Camp N, The Strip@Carmelray, Rotonda, Seda Hotel all located at the Nuvali district in the area.
Donning their official jerseys CLC Bikers traversed a total of 34.9 km. The team was short of breath and found difficulty in scaling the 300m ascent of the route. Most riders are out of shape at the moment due to prolonged bike hiatus. Some have indulged in other activities like running, big bikes, post-crash recuperation and heavy work load. The ride though was labeled a practice ride for the 69th PSME Annual National Convention’s 69km Ride.
The group have scheduled 3 more rides for the 69th PSME National Convention as follows:
- October 2, 2021 – Final Practice – Nuvali criterium 45-55km distance
- October 9, 2021 – PSME 69km Ride for the 69th PSME NatCon, Nuvali Criterium. (note: Lunch will be provided by BOD Jaime Erica)
- October 10, 2021 – PSME CLC Bikers Recovery Ride / PSME 69km (Big Bike) Ride – Binan to Caliraya. Also, this ride will be the 1st Past President’s Gran Fondo Century Ride to be jointly hosted by FP Patrick Henry Funtila and FP Dennis Eduarte.
Other chapters are enjoined to join Central Laguna or set up their own 69Km ride at their own localities. But remember RIDE SAFE, FOLLOW IATF PROTOCOLS and ALWAYS GREET YOUR CO-BIKERS A CHEERY GOOD MORNING KA-PADYAK !
